Check a verdict from Claude Code

A free skill for Claude Code. When you are about to install someone else's skill, Claude looks it up in our catalog and tells you the verdict, the date we checked it and where to read the cons.

Read it first

It is about 25 lines of instructions and no scripts. It asks for one permission: WebFetch to this site only, to read verdicts.json. Read the skill before you install it: that is the rule we apply to every other skill.

Install

Download it, read it, then move it into your skills folder. macOS or Linux:

curl -fsSL https://skillverdict.vercel.app/skill/SKILL.txt -o SKILL.md
less SKILL.md
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/skillverdict && mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/skillverdict/

Windows (PowerShell):

Invoke-WebRequest https://skillverdict.vercel.app/skill/SKILL.txt -UseBasicParsing -OutFile SKILL.md
notepad SKILL.md
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Force "$HOME\.claude\skills\skillverdict" | Out-Null; Move-Item SKILL.md "$HOME\.claude\skills\skillverdict\"

Then ask Claude, for example: Is the tdd skill from mattpocock/skills safe to install?

What it does not do

Open data

The catalog behind the skill is open: verdicts.json lists every verdict with its date, summary, page and badge, and feed.xml is an Atom feed of new and re-verified verdicts. Use them in your own tools, and link to the verdict page so your readers see the cons.
