Plugin route shown in search result/README ecosystem for this repo; the repo also ships install.sh / install.ps1. Then: /seo setup is explicitly required before bundled tools run — setup creates its isolated Python runtime and Chromium, per SKILL.md. We did not run setup.

What files / scripts it runs

This is a program, not a prompt. Repo-root scripts/ holds dozens of Python tools (fetch_page, google/gsc/ga4, drift, backlinks, screenshot and more) run through a scripts/claude-seo launcher; optional extensions connect DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Firecrawl, Google APIs and others (keys/costs unknown — check each extension; some are paid third-party APIs). SKILL.md itself forbids bare pip install fallbacks and global installs during setup.

Pros

  • Depth is real: sub-skills + agents + actual fetching/scoring scripts, not a checklist prompt
  • MIT, versioned, with doctor/setup commands that report without changing your system (/seo doctor)
  • Instructions explicitly keep setup isolated rather than polluting global Python

Cons

  • Huge surface: runtime + Chromium install, many scripts, optional paid API extensions
  • A full audit fires parallel sub-agents at a live site — get permission for sites you do not own, and watch API costs
  • For a one-off schema or title-tag check, this is a sledgehammer

Verified on 2026-11-04 through the GitHub API: it has had no commit since the 30 Oct check, so the files, sizes and verdict above still hold. Previous check on 2026-10-30, against a fresh clone (repo commit 6be93f4, 2026-10-22). Since 19 Oct: Version 2.4.2 → 2.5.0. The hub SKILL.md still says 25 sub-skills (22 core + 1 framework integration + 2 extension mirrors) and 19 sub-agents; the repo has 19 files in agents/ and 61 entries in scripts/. Same weight, same caution. Verdict unchanged.
