copywriting (marketingskills)

Install coreyhaines31/marketingskills

Corey Haines' v2.3.2 marketing copy skill, instructions-only, MIT, diagnoses your brief before drafting. Best marketing pick in this batch.

Verified · Repo on GitHub

What it does

Write/rewrite marketing copy for homepages, landing, pricing, feature and about pages. It first checks for a product-marketing context file (including its Learnings section, so it does not re-pitch tested-and-rejected angles), diagnoses what you actually gave it (blank brief, real voice samples, or a point edit), gathers page purpose/audience/offer, and drafts with explicit bans on AI tells and unsupported claims — a declined claim must name the evidence that would unlock it.

Who made it / license / last checked

Corey Haines (coreyhaines31) · License: MIT (repo LICENSE) · Skill metadata version 2.3.2 in SKILL.md · Repo last commit checked: 2026-10-30 (the skill folder last changed on 2026-10-27)

Install

npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill copywriting -a claude-code

Verified in repo README: single-skill form is npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill cro copywriting in its example; pass -a claude-code so it lands where Claude Code reads it (README warns agent-session installs can land in the wrong folder).

What files / scripts it runs

SKILL.md plus references/ (3 markdown guides, among them ai-tells.md) and evals/evals.json in the copywriting folder — still no scripts. It optionally reads your product-marketing context file if you have one.

Pros

  • Instructions-only: nothing executes
  • The diagnosis-first and claims-must-be-supportable rules are exactly what most copy prompts lack
  • Part of a coherent 50-skill marketing pack, so handoffs (copy-editing, offers, emails) exist

Cons

  • Best results need that product-marketing context file; without it, expect an interview first
  • Pack is large — install just the skills you need rather than all 50 by default

Alternatives

copy-editing in the same pack for existing copy; AgriciDaniel/claude-seo's content skills if the job is SEO briefs rather than page copy (reviewed here).

Notes

We also checked a similarly-named pack, andginja/marketingskills: text similarity for copywriting was ~5% and it credits a different author — on our evidence that is a separate implementation, not a copy, so we do not label it one.

Checked 19 Oct 2026 (Europe/Madrid) from local clones of the repos above. Repo last-commit is a repo date, not a per-skill release date. Install counts, where quoted, are skills.sh leaderboard figures fetched that day and are distribution, not quality.

Verified on 2026-11-04 through the GitHub API: it has had no commit since the 30 Oct check, so the files, sizes and verdict above still hold. Previous check on 2026-10-30, against a fresh clone (repo commit 820ad2c, 2026-10-29). Since 19 Oct: Version 2.3.1 → 2.3.2. Two small fixes on 27 Oct (commits a4ce322 and 15b38b5); SKILL.md is 15,553 bytes. The folder also holds references/ and evals/evals.json: they were already there on 19 Oct, when we wrongly wrote «SKILL.md only». Nothing executable. MIT unchanged. Verdict unchanged.
