Install with caution flowkit-labs/skills

Drafts disclosed Reddit replies with a human posting each one — but it is a byte-identical republish and a funnel to a paid service.

What it does

Reddit marketing in two steps: find the few threads where someone is asking for what you sell (recommendation asks, pain, competitor mentions) and rank the top 3, then draft 2–3-sentence replies "as an experienced peer". It gates product mentions (only when it truly answers the ask and you have used it), requires disclosing your affiliation in the same breath, and keeps a human reviewing and posting every reply.

Who made it / license / last checked

Committed by kalvinrv; the skill credits doany.ai · License: MIT (repo LICENSE) · Repo last commit checked: 2026-08-12 (the repo's only commit)

Install

# The README of this repo points to the original:
npx skills add doany-skills/skills --skill reddit-automation -g

That line is in the README of both repos. The leaderboard entry is flowkit-labs/skills, but its README sends you to doany-skills/skills — see Notes.

What files / scripts it runs

One SKILL.md (8,008 bytes), a README and a LICENSE. No scripts, no credentials, no posting: it only reads threads you give it and drafts text.

Pros

  • Ethics written in: disclosure, one real account, respect each subreddit's rules, a human posts
  • Treats Reddit content as untrusted data and tells the agent to ignore instructions inside threads
  • Nothing executes

Cons

  • Byte-identical to doany-skills/skills (all 3 files), republished in a new org by the same committer: two listings, one skill
  • It is a funnel: UTM links to doany.ai and a closing pitch for its paid "autopilot"
  • Says Reddit has no "post a comment" API — Reddit's public API does have a comment endpoint, so treat its factual claims with care
  • "Experience grammar" replies only stay honest if you really have that experience

Alternatives

Writing your own replies with your affiliation in your Reddit profile and each subreddit's self-promotion rules in front of you.

Notes

We compared both repos on 30 Oct: LICENSE, README.md and reddit-automation/SKILL.md are byte-identical. doany-skills/skills was created on 13 Jul 2026 (10 stars that day); flowkit-labs/skills on 12 Aug 2026 (25 stars) with a single commit by the same author. Skills.sh listed the flowkit-labs entry at 1.2M installs (#10) on 30 Oct 2026 — a lot for a 25-star repo, but we have no way to audit how that counter is reached.

Sources

Verified on 2026-11-04 through the GitHub API: neither it nor the original it is compared with has had a commit since the 30 Oct check, so the files, sizes and verdict above still hold. Previous check on 2026-10-30, from a fresh clone of the repo (commit 0c9e2b6, 2026-08-12) and the skills.sh leaderboard fetched that day. Repo last-commit is a repo date, not a per-skill release date. Install counts are distribution, not quality.
